Looking Forward

Future Proof

The future
Is a consensual hallucination,
Forever refreshed
Here in that ever-present
Floating bubble
That is the constricted neck
Of Time.
There,
We seek tomorrow,
We invent the anticipation
Of what is to come,
Based on the amnesia
Of yesterday.
In truth,
The future is forever
Out of reach,
For it truly exists
Only now.
