Trailer Parks

Novel launched with trailer competition

BOOK trailers are becoming an ever-more popular phenomenon so when novelist Adele Parks decided to create one for her latest work, she called in students from the University of Teeside to put one together on her behalf.

The trailer promotes Parks’ 11th novel, ‘About Last Night’ and it was put together by a team of students from the School of Arts & Media doing a BA (Hons) course in Television & Film Production Studies.

There’ll be some picking and choosing, since teams of students were pitched against each other, with the winning trailer due to be announced this coming Wednesday (27 April). Parks is to give a talk about her novel at the University’s Centuria Building, during which time she will also announce the winning video trailer.

‘About Last Night’ follows the story of two women who have been friends for over 30 years. Their close friendship is pushed to the limits by dramatic events that unfold over the space of 24 hours.

Park’s talk, ‘From Cinderella to Bestseller’, will look at her literary work and the importance of reading. She has sold one and half million copies of her books, sold in the UK and her translated into 25 different languages.

The winning trailer will be seen online at such websites as Amazon, Headline Publishing, Teeside University, and Parks’ own website and Facebook fan page.
