Poetry Competition

Decanto calls for poems

Time is running out on the latest international poetry competition organised by Decanto magazine but the deadline is far from critical just yet.

The deadline for this year's Decanto Poetry Competition is 1 October 2011, with entries welcome from poets the world over.

Poets aged 16 or over are encouraged to submit work in any style or on any subject. Poems must not exceed 50 lines and entries will be blind judged so they must contain only the poem and its title. The poet's name and address, along with the poem titles should be sent on a separate sheet.

Furthermore, entries must be typed and be previously unpublished. Entrants should write 'competition' on the name and address sheet.

First prize will consist of a year's subscription to the poetry journal, plus two copies of its December edition. This will include a featured section, plus the winning poem, along with a biography and photograph of the poet.

Second and third prize winners will receive two copies of the December issue which will feature their winning poems.

Entries are £2.00 per poem with a maximum of 10 entries per poet. For US entrants it is $4.00/ three Euros or international money orders in Sterling.

The competition will be judged by Decanto's editor, poet Lisa Stewart.

Cheques should be payable to Miss L Stewart and sent to: Masque Publishing, PO Box 3257, Littlehampton, BN16 9AF, England.
